One might say on the back of dominating the front grid of the Le Mans 2008, Peugeot have dazzled many with the release of the Le Man 207 Special Edition. I’m a little more sceptical on the coincidence, still one can’t argue with the final product - a tasty hot hatch that’ll no doubt appeal to many.
As the best looking 207 for some time, the Le Mans 207 SE has received a number of cosmetic upgrades including a colour coded sporty body kit with the front bumper accented with a shadow chrome grille and headlights. A long vivid red racing stripe runs the vertical length of the 207 SE whilst additional decals include logo stripping on the doors and on the rear. Available in either Banquise White or Obsidien Black the exterior highlights are topped off with special multispoke 17-inch Pitlane aluminium wheels.

As typical practice with car manufacturers looking to generate some buzz about runout models, Ford have created the devilishly handsome Fiesta ST500 Limited Edition (500 units).
Mechanically the ST500 LE remains identical to the current ST (XR4 in AU) with the rorty 2.0L Duratec 4 cylinder furnace, finely tuned sports suspension, a close ratio short shift gearbox and tweaked sports steering.
The ST500 LE has received a nice facelift as you will no doubt notice in the large number of pictures (available below on the click through). Highlights include 17″ black rims, red calipers, a custom bonnet U shape decal, Sony stereo system and leather heated seats. There will be only 500 units available and will be retailing for GBP 15,000.

Minor tweaks to an already good looking package were clearly the order of the day at Alfa with the launch of the new Alfa Romeo 147 Sport and Sport Q2 models in the UK. Not suprisingly the 147 Sport receives a number of interior and exterior cosmetic tweaks with Q2-type cloth seats, sports dials, aluminium pedals representing the large part of the interior evolution. The 147 Sport’s exterior also receives an update with 17″ 5 spoke rims, roof spoiler and a chrome exhaust. The 147 Sport Q2 also receives a Q2 LSD alongside an uprated suspension package increasing overall handling feel for those who enjoy chasing the twisty roads. The Q2 also receives a range of interior upgrades with the highlights including black leather sports seats, dual zone climate control.Available in Red, Grey and Black, these sexy hatches won’t be available for long with only 450 147 Sports models and 350 Q2 models scheduled for birth. |

| Whilst officially set for launch on the 24th of August it appears the cat has been let out of the bag (thanks CarScoop) regarding the all new Ford Fiesta Concept. Set to be officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Fiesta styling clearly follows the recent Mondeo and S-Max styling coming from Ford Europe. Naturally we can expect the final production Fiesta’s styling to to be toned down, still it’s as a great base platform to work with. | ||
| Let’s hope the new platform continues to delivers the chassis dynamics and fun factor to an all new Fiesta ST platform, a great all round hot hatch. Further images circulating from a German magazine with real images confirming the styling can be found on the follow through. | ||
Honda’s Civic Type-R, lorded by The Stig as the hottest of all modern hatches is heading downunder to join the flourishing local hot hatch scene in Australia.
Speculated to be priced around the $40K ($32 K USD) mark, the Civic Type R has 201 ponies at 8,000 RPM thanks to the 2.0-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine delivering a 0 to 60 in around 6 flat, top end running out to 146 mph.
