The Mazda has been around for sometime and really proven itself as a genuine screamer. The new kid on the block, the 2008 Subaru WRX is stepping up to the plate in a couple of videos courtesy of YouTube.

Zoom-Zoom indeed, with 250-hp (190kW) and a 0-60mph in under 6 seconds it’s quite simply the hottest hatchback available today. Beginning at USD $22,800 the MazdaSpeed3 Sports Package packs a six-speed manual transmission, 18-inch alloys and the relevant tech including DSC, TC and ABD. An advanced LSD features to ensure power hits the ground as expected.

A Grand Touring model is also available from an additional USD$1,700. This includes extra luxury items such as automatic on/off headlights, rain-sensing wipers, Xenon HID headlights, LED rear combination taillights, accented leather bolsters on its black cloth seats, a premium BOSE sound system and available DVD navigation.

The MazdaSpeed3 is set to attract a significant number of suitors in a market keen on power and style in an economical package.
